We are pleased to offer a professional, accredited staff. All teachers have a vast knowledge and love for dance and are committed to educating students and maintaining a positive environment. Profiles on our teachers are listed below.
Jennifer Gravina, Artistic Director - Miss Jennifer brings 15 years of teaching experience and a love for dance to each of her students. She holds her BATD membership in stage (tap and jazz), an associate CDTA membership in ballet, tap and jazz, a DMA membership in ballet and tap, and has studied in the Teacher's Training Program at the Royal Winnipeg Ballet.
Many of Miss Jennifer's former students have gone on to pursue their own careers in the field of dance with such companies as the National Ballet of Canada, Quinte Ballet School of Canada, Lècole National de Cirque, aboard cruise ships, as cheerleaders for the Toronto Raptors and Toronto Argonauts, with productions including The Lion King, and in several music videos.
As artistic director, Miss Jennifer strives to bring the best in quality dance education to her students. She is an accomplished dancer, teacher, adjudicator, and choreographer who has received numerous accolades, choreography and high score awards including Grand Champion 2006 at the Dance Championships in Western New York.
Miss Jennifer welcomes all new and returning students to JAM and wishes each the best for the upcoming season.
Sara Della Motta - Miss Sara discovered her love of dance at the age of 3, when she attended her first tap class. Before long, she had added acrobatics, jazz, ballet, pointe and lyrical to her weekly class schedule. Miss Sara studied ballet and modern at York University and is a member of the BATD in the stage (tap and jazz) and acrobatic divisions.
As a competitive student, Miss Sara was very successful winning various awards and titles including Junior All-Around Dancer at the BATD festival and at the CDTA Dance Convention. Now as a choreographer, she has achieved many high score and choreography awards including Grand Champion 2007 at the Dance Championships in Western New York.
Miss Sara instructed at the high school level at Monsignor Paul Dwyer Catholic High School in the Performing Arts program and has been teaching at JAM since 1999. Former students have gone on to Lècole National de Cirque, the National Ballet of Canada, and Quinte Ballet School of Canada to name a few.
Miss Sara is looking forward to the upcoming dance season!
Sarah Lack - Miss Sarah is an accomplished teacher and performer in all areas of dance! A former member of the JAM competitive team, she has won many overall awards and trophies, and now, as a choreographer, the awards keep coming! She has won several choreography awards for her work, and her students are continuously successful at competitions.
Miss Sarah is a member of the BATD stage (tap and jazz) division. She traveled to Reisa, Germany as a member of the Canadian National Tap Team in 1999 and 2002, bringing home the silver medal and bronze medal respectively. She is excited for the year ahead!
Kelsey Best - Miss Kelsey is a former student of Miss Jennifer! She is an accomplished dancer and has won countless awards and titles, and competed in the "I Love Dance" sweetheart competition in New York City.
As a member of the Canadian National Tap Team in 2003, Miss Kelsey brought home the gold medal for Canada in the team division and 5th place overall in the tap duet category.
Miss Kelsey is a member of the BATD stage (tap and jazz) division.
Kristy Best - Miss Kristy studied in the Dance Foundations Program at George Brown College, with the DMA Teacher's Training Program, Ballet Jorgen, and MADD rhythms.
She was a member of the Canadian National Tap Team in 2002, and again in 2003 where she placed 2nd as a soloist and 5th in the duet category. She is a former member of "The Dance Company" and a current member of the Mississauga based "What's On? Tap!"
Miss Kristy has recently returned to JAM after performing in Broadway and Vegas style revue shows on the "Carnival Glory" for Carnival Cruise Lines. She is a member of the BATD stage division (tap and jazz) and has instructed at the Eastview and Northview Boys and Girls Clubs of Oshawa.
Lindsey MacDonald - Miss Lindsey is a member of the BATD in the acrobatics division and an associate member of the stage (tap and jazz) division. In addition to instructing at JAM, she has taught jazz and hip hop through a community program in Whitby.
She is a former Provincial Level Gymnast and competitive dancer with the JAM competitive team. Miss Lindsey trained with the DMA Teacher's Training Program where she studied acrobatics/gymnastics, jazz, tap, musical theatre, ballet and various stretching classes.
Katy Guthenberg - Miss Katy has a gift for working with our youngest of dancers! She is a former competitive dancer at JAM and has received many high score and special awards for her performances. Miss Katy is a member of the BATD in the stage (tap and jazz) division.
Erin Johnston - Miss Erin is our resident hip hop teacher. She has danced both recreationally and competitively since a young age. In addition to instructing at JAM, she has also taught hip hop through a community program.
She is a former member of the Toronto Argonaut Dance Team, danced in the half time show of the American Bowl and participated in numerous workshops. Miss Erin has also traveled to L.A. for dance workshops with famous choreographers including Shane Sparks, (So you think you can dance), and Mickey Mindon, (Pussycat Dolls).
Rosanna Celebre - Miss Rosanna has danced recreationally and competitively since age 3. She has been a member of JAM since 1997 and is an Associate member of the BATD stage division (tap and jazz).
She is also a recent graduate of Ryerson University with a Bachelor of Arts Degree in the study of Early Childhood Education.
